James R. Prescott

Jim Prescott is a public affairs and communications management veteran with more than 25 years' experience in media and government relations, crisis management and integrated communications. As a versatile professional with wide-ranging experience, he has developed and managed strategic programs that span a variety of issues and industries.

Mr. Prescott has extensive communications management experience in issue-driven business categories, including energy, environmental management, transportation, major public works projects, food safety and biotechnology, insurance, sports and gaming facility development, health care, and financial services. He also has international experience that includes on-site client counsel, media relations management and crisis communications supervision in Europe and Australia.

Among notable programs he has developed and managed recently is a global media relations program in 2002 to support the leading international research conference on Alzheimer's disease, in Stockholm, Sweden, for the Alzheimer's Association. In addition, Mr. Prescott directed public affairs in Illinois for Guardian Pipeline from its introduction in 1999 until the 150-mile natural gas pipeline was placed in service in 2002.

A public relations agency veteran, Mr. Prescott has provided public affairs and crisis management counsel to such clients as Marathon Ashland Petroleum, Bridgestone/Firestone, United Healthcare of Illinois and CMS Energy Corporation. He also has supervised integrated communications programs for the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Ben Hogan Gold Company, the NutraSweet Company and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Recently, Jim has assisted the Neil Palmer & Associates Public Consultation Team to assist on the TransCanada Pipeline "Keystone Project," a 1,842 mile crude oil pipeline.

Mr. Prescott gained political, government and intensive media relations experience as Assistant Press Secretary to former Gov. James R. Thompson of Illinois, the state's longest-serving governor. In addition to working in the State Capitol, Mr. Prescott managed the Governor's Chicago press office.

Mr. Prescott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Illinois State University.
